Job Description:

Local Hero is seeking a hands-on, growth-focused Sales Director to lead our SMB sales practice. This role combines leadership, coaching, and accountability to drive cold-to-close sales and subscription revenue through our franchise and agent markets. While you’ll occasionally join sales calls yourself, your primary mission is to develop the team, refine processes, and ensure quota attainment through structure, enablement, and execution. Local Hero is a MAAP – Marketing as a Platform – technology company that blends local digital media, dynamic ad creation, self-serve technology, and full-service value to create custom campaigns and increase consumer traffic for national brands and local franchisees.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to motivate and steer a growing sales team
  • Support daily sales activity across inbound and outbound channels — ensuring consistent messaging, qualification, and follow-up standards
  • Review and report sales metrics (pipeline, conversion rates, ACV, cycle time, win/loss) consistently to leadership
  • Own forecasting and pipeline accuracy in HubSpot
  • Partner closely with Marketing and Customer Success to align lead flow, nurture strategies, and customer retention handoffs
  • Develop playbooks and training plans to continuously improve team performance and onboarding efficiency
  • Occasionally run or join client sales calls — modeling best practices for discovery, demoing, and closing
  • Optimize systems and workflows for efficiency, visibility, and scalability
  • Drive accountability for activity, quality, and results across your team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years in B2B or SaaS sales
  • At least 3 years of sales leadership experience
  • Proven record of building, coaching, and retaining successful sales teams
  • Deep familiarity with SMB, franchise, or multi-location sales environments especially in insurance or restaurant verticals
  • Proficiency in HubSpot CRM (reporting, forecasting, and pipeline management)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organized and data-driven, with the ability to identify and remove roadblocks for your team

Nice to have:

  • You’ve built or scaled a high-velocity SMB sales motion (ideally franchise or channel-based)
  • You’re a coach at heart — you measure success by your team’s growth, not just your own deals
  • You know how to balance KPIs with morale and motivation
  • You thrive in dynamic, fast-growth environments and aren’t afraid to iterate
  • You’re proactive, confident, and deeply collaborative
  • You can toggle seamlessly between strategy, execution, and enablement
What we offer:
  • Remote work available with the possibility of onsite or hybrid if in commuting distance of our Boulder, CO office
  • Flex PTO plan
  • Generous holidays including a reduced schedule between Christmas and New Year’s
  • Strong health plans - dental and vision premiums covered
  • Access to Flexible Spending Accounts Plan
  • Matching traditional and Roth 401k
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Supplemental tenure-based leave: self-care and family first
  • Life Insurance
  • Legal Assistance plan
  • Pet Insurance discount through the ASPCA
  • A killer culture with team members who have your back
  • In-person and virtual connection points for culture building
