This role will focus on modernizing IT operations, enhancing service delivery, and strengthening the client’s ability to meet evolving challenges. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IT infrastructure, data center operations, cloud computing, and enterprise architecture, as well as a proven track record of leading large-scale IT initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee technical architecture and operations for client’s data centers, including private cloud hosting environments with over 120,000 virtual machines across multiple availability zones
Manage data center facilities, servers, storage, virtualization, software distribution, capacity planning, infrastructure automation, and project delivery
Develop and implement strategies for software-defined infrastructure and modern cloud-ready design practices
Lead innovative projects that integrate emerging technologies such as AI, ML, and automation to enhance client’s IT capabilities
Design and maintain reference architectures and enterprise standards for key platforms, including x86 servers, data center storage, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware, and Oracle RAC
Ensure compliance with government policies, including Section 508 accessibility standards
Provide end-to-end IT support services across client’s enterprise, including headquarters, field sites, training centers, and international locations
Manage lifecycle equipment refresh, preventive maintenance, and break-fix repairs for IT and communication equipment
Deliver centralized IT service desk support (SPOC) adhering to ITIL frameworks and ISO/IEC 20000 standards
Ensure first-contact resolution for incidents and service requests, minimizing downtime for mission-critical systems
Implement robust data handling and protection measures to ensure compliance with federal regulations and security requirements
Collaborate with client’s Information Assurance and Cybersecurity Division (IAD) to maintain secure IT environments
Provide regular updates to client leadership on IT initiatives, challenges, and opportunities
Foster collaboration across multiple organizations to achieve strategic IT goals
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, operations, and enterprise architecture within Federal Government agencies
Minimum of 5 years proven leadership in managing large-scale IT environments, including private cloud hosting and data center operations
Must be a US citizen with an Active Secret Security Clearance
