Job Responsibility

  • Oversight of institutional level of key risks, mitigation factors, risk awareness, overall management of legal affairs, and reporting
  • Develop and monitor compliance frameworks that enables the University to ensure compliance with policies, laws and regulations
  • Work closely with the Colleges/Divisions for risk and compliance assessments and lead independent investigations and compliance assurance
  • Manage the whistle-blowing platform for the University
  • and undertake special projects and investigations
  • Working closely with the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor
  • Responsible for the efficient and effective conduct of university business by the Council, its committees and boards and the Senate and its sub-committees

Requirements

  • A Master's qualification from a recognized university in a relevant field, such as law, risk management, public administration, or a related area with at least 10 years of work experience in the field of Secretariat, Risk and Compliance OR A Postgraduate qualification (Level 8) from a recognized university in relevant field, such as law, risk management, public administration or a related area, with at least 14 years of work experience in the field of Secretariat, Risk and Compliance
  • Maintain a current and valid Legal Practicing License
  • Senior leadership experience in governance, risk, compliance, or legal functions
  • Proven experience in corporate governance and committee management
  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise risk management frameworks
  • Experience in compliance oversight within complex organisations
