The Salesforce Platform Architect is the lead technologist of the Salesforce Center of Excellence at Zelis. Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Applications, this role goes beyond solution design, it owns the architectural vision, drives platform strategy, and curates the technical roadmap that enables scalable, secure, and future-proof Salesforce innovation across the enterprise.
Job Responsibility:
Define and evolve the long-term architectural vision for Salesforce at Zelis
Develop and maintain a living technical roadmap
Establish and enforce architectural standards, reusable design patterns, and documentation practices
Design robust integration strategies between Salesforce and enterprise systems
Conduct org health assessments and performance tuning across environments
Lead proof-of-concepts for new technologies within the Salesforce ecosystem
Mentor developers and tech leads
Collaborate with DevOps to ensure CI/CD pipelines align with architectural principles
Partner with data architects to ensure data lineage, governance, and analytics readiness
Requirements:
8+ years in enterprise architecture
5+ years focused on Salesforce platform design
Salesforce Certified Application Architect and System Architect credentials
Deep expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, REST/SOAP APIs, and integration architecture
Experience with Mulesoft, Heroku, Kafka, or other middleware/event platforms
Strong understanding of security protocols, identity management, and compliance frameworks
Prior experience in healthcare, fintech, or regulated industries
Familiarity with microservices, containerization, and cloud-native design principles
