We are working on a Director of Sales for a company that works on women's RTW, to spearhead the sales strategy specifically focused on our better discount product line. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for leading efforts to maximize sales revenue, expand market penetration, and enhance the overall customer experience within the discount segment. Your expertise in discount retail sales and the ability to lead teams will be crucial in driving our business forward. Wholesale apparel experience is required for this role. Role is in NYC - 4 days on site and 1 remote each week. Working with retailers such as Macy's Backstage, Nordstrom's Rack and Bloomingdales Outlet as well as TJ Maxx. Looking for a brand builder and the ability for bringing in new business. Salary at full time up to $170K based on experience as well as a bonus.
Job Responsibility
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets for the better discount product line
Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales professionals to ensure high levels of performance and engagement
Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with key retailers, distributors, and partners
Analyze consumer trends, market data, and competitive landscape to shape strategic decisions and identify growth opportunities
Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to align sales initiatives with business objectives
Monitor sales performance metrics and provide regular updates to senior leadership
Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained across all discount sales interactions
Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the sales team
Stay informed about industry changes and emerging trends in discount retail
Requirements
Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles, particularly within discount retail and women's better apparel
Strong understanding of discount sales strategies, pricing models, and market dynamics
Excellent leadership and team development skills
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities
Data-driven mindset with a knack for analyzing sales metrics and translating insights into actions
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
8+ years of relevant sales experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity
