Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Director, Real Estate to join the North American Commercial team based in our New York City (SoHo) headquarters. The Director of Real Estate will collaborate with senior leaders to formulate strategic market plans for the company's retail fleet. This position will identify potential locations, negotiate leases while ensuring alignment with the company's financial and strategic goals. Marc Jacobs International is part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) fashion division and operates in the wholesale and direct to consumer retail markets. The Director, Real Estate will manage the real estate process from strategy to execution for all existing and new stores in North America. A key member of the Commercial team, this position plays a significant role in expansion plans and marketplace execution.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee Marc Jacobs’ real estate portfolio (80+ doors)
Lead the planning, development, and acquisition of new site selection
Provide strategic analysis and market planning for retail store locations
Negotiate lease renewals with landlords
Identify new store opportunities for expansion and provide sales forecasts for proposed sites
Manage budget for new store openings, relocations and remodels
Develop and execute growth strategy based on demographic-based analytics
Lead lease portfolio strategy, including tracking lease renewals, expirations, relocation opportunities and rent increases
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, or other consultants as needed to ensure that construction projects proceed according to schedule
Travel to markets for store visits & market assessment
Requirements:
10+ years’ experience in retail real estate with a focus on establishing and growing a retailer’s real estate portfolio
Notable networking skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with landlords, developers, and real estate brokers
Proven experience leading successful business negotiations
Developed analytical skillset - ability to analyze financial and demographic data
Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence across the organization
Desire to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Exceptional knowledge of retail markets across North America
Strong planning, organizational and project management skills
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
Ability to travel as required (approximately 40%)
