Job Description

We are hiring a Director, Quick Commerce to lead and scale the Quick Commerce business at foodpanda Malaysia. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Quick Commerce APAC, with a dotted line to the Managing Director of foodpanda Malaysia, this role will have full ownership of the business end-to-end, including strategy, execution, and P&L performance. You will lead both our 1P dark store business (pandamart) and 3P marketplace partnerships with major grocery and non-grocery retailers. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader who can define the long-term vision, mobilize cross-functional teams, and build strong executive relationships with key partners across the market.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and scale the Quick Commerce business at foodpanda Malaysia
  • Develop and execute the short-term and long-term strategy of Quick Commerce at foodpanda Malaysia
  • Own the full P&L of the business vertical, delivering both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability against ambitious targets
  • Develop and lead a high-performing, multi-functional team of ~50 across sales, account management, category management, store operations, supply chain, and retail media
  • Drive growth and profitability of the pandamart business (1P) by refining brand positioning, optimizing assortment and pricing, and scaling nationwide retail and supply chain operations
  • Expand the marketplace business (3P) through strategic partnerships with leading retailers, delivering Joint Business Plans, and scaling acquisition and account management capabilities
  • Identify and deploy innovative, growth-focused initiatives to unlock new business opportunities and accelerate market expansion

Requirements

  • 12-15 years of professional experience, including significant time in senior roles within e-commerce, q-commerce, on-demand delivery, or complex retail/logistics environments
  • Familiarity with the Malaysian market is a strong plus
  • Proven track record of managing a sizeable P&L (XXm$ to XXXm$) and consistently delivering strong business results
  • Experience building and leading multi-functional teams of 30+ people, including managing leaders and multiple organizational layers
  • Ability to operate effectively across all levels, from engaging C-suite partners at major retailers, to leading internal town halls, to supporting frontline teams in operational environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-velocity retail operations and platform-based marketplace models simultaneously, identifying key commercial levers for growth
  • Proven track record of building and managing complex partnerships with FMCG/CPG companies and retailers, including high-stakes negotiations and long-term commercial agreements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field (Master’s degree would be a plus)
