Job Description

As the Director of Product Marketing for AMD Embedded Business Unit, you will drive growth for the critical market segment(s). You will own the market segment revenue, strategic marketing, customer wins, and market traction for the exciting and high-growth AMD Embedded Processor product lines working with AMD’s dynamic teams and cutting-edge technology. You will drive customer engagement strategy and implementation for CPUs for Networking, and Storage market segments. Specifically, you will manage a broad range of outbound product marketing activities, with emphasis on driving revenue, winning customer designs, business development, design win strategy and implementation, sales-tools generation, driving product requirements for key customers, and sales training. The focus of this position will be on AMD processors for Networking and Storage segments in the Great China Region.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and drive segment/customer revenue by working closely with the sales team
  • Implement local design win strategy and relentlessly drive design wins at all major Tier 1 OEMs, MDCs jointly with the sales team
  • Drive design wins to production
  • Drive strategy, narrative, and customer engagements for Networking & Storage
  • Provide customer input for MRDs, product positioning, and pricing to the product management team
  • Nurture relationships with key leaders at major customers
  • Attend conferences, customer meetings and factor latest trends and technologies in Embedded Ryzen and Embedded EPYC processors, software and solution features
  • Define and drive ecosystem in the context of Tier 1 customer engagements
  • Understand market dynamics and competitive solutions, perform SWOT analysis, and prepare positioning statements
  • Create a complete set of sales tools, including customer presentations, sales training material that highlight unique value proposition of AMD’s embedded processor product line

Requirements

  • 15+ years of product marketing experience in semiconductors/embedded systems/networking/storage with a proven track record of driving customer engagements for processors in networking and storage applications for Service Provider/Enterprise/Cloud market
  • Strong understanding of Networking technology, trends, usage models, customers and solutions
  • Strong operational experience with ability to judge, set and drive revenue numbers
  • Strong technical background
  • ability to understand customer requirements and position AMD solutions to win designs
  • Excellent understanding of CPUs and associated technologies, networking/storage standards and protocols
  • Good understanding of market requirements for cloud services providers, data center and enterprise OEMs
  • Knowledge of complete embedded systems stack required
  • Skillset to engage executive management at major Tier 1 customers
  • Understanding of software requirements for embedded systems including data-plane kits, drivers, operating systems and hypervisors
  • Understanding of various GTM strategies for the target markets including ODM, CM channel
  • Strong experience in building and maintaining excellent customer relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must-have
  • Strong sense of urgency in driving internal and customer organizations to achieve design win and revenue goals
  • Highly mature and excellent sense of judgement in evaluating customer requirements and driving accordingly
  • Strong ability to build relationships with senior leaders at customers and within AMD
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to interface internally and externally with all levels of the organization
  • Effectively drive sales and business development teams to meet business goals
  • Demonstrate good analysis and problem-solving skills
