Job Description

Under the strategic direction of the Vice President of Physician Recruitment and Engagement, the Director of Physician Recruitment is responsible for the operational overview of all aspects of the recruitment and staffing process, including development of talent search plans, conducting specific searches, oversight of leadership searches by reporting recruiters, and management of physician and provider recruitment team.

Job Responsibility

  • Works in collaboration with Physician and Provider Recruiters and leadership to develop and propose a Talent Search Plan to include all mediums of advertising (print, electronic, social media, conference attendance, direct mail outreach and other proactive approaches).
  • Develops and cultivates relationships with educational and residency programs, attends national or regional medical society meetings and career fairs to give Memorial increased visibility and/or interview perspective candidates.
  • Assists in the development of standardized processes and procedures to support department goals in support of the organization's strategic initiatives.
  • Manages associate recruiters' prioritized workflow for scheduling site visits, outreach to potential candidates, and conduct research on specialty-specific projects for the purpose of finding qualified talent.
  • Based on the organization's strategic recruitment plan and assigned searches, researches potential candidates, initiates contact and conducts appropriate screenings for further evaluation, and successfully completes initial interview of targeted candidates to be presented to Search Committee.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of national and regional recruitment trends through pertinent literature and membership in physician and provider recruitment organizations.
  • Participates in networking activities with an emphasis on recruitment, and ensures compliance with all legalities, including recruitment guidelines and regulations.
  • Oversees day-to-day search and recruitment operations through management, oversight and development of physician and provider recruitment staff.
  • Works closely with key stakeholders to develop recruitment action plan, identify candidates, create timeline, and collaborate on the hiring of new physicians and providers.
  • Plays an active role in ongoing medical staff needs forecasting and succession planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelors (Required)
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) - Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) - Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
  • Seven (7) years of Physician Recruitment experience required. Five (5) years of Management experience required. Bachelor's Degree required in Human Resources or in a job related field. Master's Degree preferred. Certification preferred. Certification required within one (1) year of employment.
