Job Description

The Director of CTEM Development defines the technical vision and strategic direction for Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) and leads the engineering, innovation, and operation of enterprise-scale exposure management platforms. The role establishes competitive standards, strategic goals, and engineering objectives while overseeing scanning, discovery, configuration assessment, exposure validation, and telemetry capabilities that support hybrid environments across Global Cyber Security.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversees engineering, operation, and continuous improvement of CTEM platforms, including scanning, discovery, configuration assessment, exposure validation, and telemetry
  • Leads the global engineering lifecycle, including architecture for distributed assessment engines, telemetry pipelines, detection logic, secure configuration evaluation, and adversarial validation workflows
  • Drives automation-first engineering and ensures excellence in CI/CD, secure coding, testing, observability, and reliability to deliver scalable and resilient platforms
  • Ensures CTEM platforms meet operational, reliability, scalability, and performance standards, while leading technical analysis to improve detection accuracy, discovery fidelity, telemetry quality, and overall exposure reduction
  • Owns the global CTEM roadmap, set engineering strategies, and define technical direction aligned with broader cybersecurity and business goals
  • Collaborates across internal teams—including SDLC, Security Architecture, and Product—to ensure interoperability and alignment with enterprise standards
  • Supports financial and operational planning, prepare and manage budgets, monitor forecasts and expenditures, and guide headcount strategy
  • Establishes reporting standards, track engineering progress, analyze costs, and use operational metrics to drive measurable outcomes
  • Manages vendors and partners
  • Leads globally distributed engineering teams, including managers and professional staff
  • Oversees staffing, performance management, skills development, and retention
  • Builds development programs, training initiatives, and operational procedures to ensure teams meet organizational expectations

Requirements

  • 10 - 15+ years of engineering leadership experience overseeing large, complex technical environments
  • Strong engineering background with deep understanding of development practices, SDLC, coding standards, and modern architecture
  • Ability to lead technical strategy, set engineering direction, and own platform roadmaps
  • Experience managing engineering teams of 15- 20+ people, including global and distributed teams
  • Skilled in people leadership, team development, performance management, and talent retention
  • Experience with scanning, discovery, configuration assessment, telemetry, and exposure validation platforms
  • Strong understanding of secure coding, CI/CD pipelines, automation, testing, observability, and reliability engineering
  • Broad familiarity with multiple programming languages and development methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, resource planning, forecasting, and operational execution
  • Experience collaborating across architecture, SDLC, product, and cybersecurity teams
  • Ability to lead complex technical investigations and drive improvements to platform scalability, performance, and detection accuracy
  • Experience managing vendors and third‑party engineering partners
  • Strong communication and leadership presence, with the ability to influence technical and organizational decisions
  • Exposure management and vulnerability management experience highly beneficial
  • Experience supporting global readiness, incident response, and enterprise exposure reduction efforts

  • Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) - Directs the organization's proactive exposure reduction program. This includes attack surface management, vulnerability prioritization, red team / purple team program oversight, penetration testing governance, and the coordination of remediation workflows with IT and engineering stakeholders.
  • Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) - Commands the intelligence function responsible for producing finished, operationalized threat intelligence. This includes strategic intelligence briefings to CISO and Board, tactical intelligence feeds into detection platforms, threat actor tracking, sector-specific threat analysis (transportation/aviation/border security), and third-party intelligence partnerships.
  • Incident Response (IR) - Owns the full incident response lifecycle. Accountable for IR planning and playbook governance, crisis management and executive communication during significant incidents, forensic capability oversight, tabletop exercise program, regulatory breach notification coordination, and post-incident reviews (PIRs).
  • Security Operations (SecOps) Collaboration - Direct and optimize resources across global SOC locations (Montreal, Cairo, Singapore), ensuring consistent standards, 24/7/365 coverage through a follow‑the‑sun operating model, and resilient business continuity with defined failover capabilities. Drive collaboration and intelligence sharing across sites while managing MSSP and third‑party partners to ensure performance, accountability, and unified global operations.
  • Strategic Leadership & Governance - Define and lead a multi‑year global CSIRT strategy, serving as the single point of accountability for threat exposure, intelligence, and incident response while aligning capabilities to business risk and industry frameworks. Own executive reporting, budget planning, and the establishment of clear SLAs and KPIs to ensure a mature, scalable, and effective cybersecurity operations program.
  • People Leadership & Talent Development - Lead, develop, and retain a high‑performing global cybersecurity operations team across CTEM, CTI, and Incident Response, fostering an inclusive, high‑accountability culture that enables collaboration across regions and time zones. Establish clear career pathways, performance management, and succession planning while overseeing staffing models, shift coverage, and on‑call operations across all SOC locations.
  • Executive & Stakeholder Engagement - Act as the primary liaison to the CISO, delivering executive‑ and board‑level insights on security operations, threat posture, and incident response effectiveness. Partner cross‑functionally with architecture, engineering, GRC, legal, and IT teams, and represent CSIRT in audits, regulatory reviews, and customer security engagements.
