Job Description:

The Director of IT is responsible for providing a high level of operational availability and stability for both standard network and hotel industry-specific technology at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Puerto Rico.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide a high level of operational availability and stability for property-based technology, including Network & Server infrastructure management, adequate backup processes to fight the virus threat, and providing desktop support services for ensuring the uptime of the IT facility of the resort
  • Assist in the planning & design of the server infrastructure, including capacity planning, performance monitoring, operating system upgrades and/or patches, trouble-shooting & restoration of services, system backup & recovery procedures, regular backup and integrity checks, and Virus protection management
  • Develop and maintain a core set of proactive maintenance processes that are performed on property systems
  • Ensure critical systems, specifically Front Office Property Management System, Call Accounting, HSIA, PABX and Food & Beverage Point of Sales computer systems are available twenty-four (24) hours per day
  • Establish and maintain system security procedures consistent with control requirements and corporate policy
  • Responsible for network support & security of Hotel network, Active Directory maintenance, Server Infrastructure maintenance, Network Infrastructure maintenance – wired & wireless, Network protection & failover tools implementation (Firewall, web security, multi-homing devices, etc)
  • Establish and maintain, test and monitor backup plan for all systems to ensure protection from loss of data and ensure backups are carried out in accordance with corporate and local policies
  • Prepare IT operating budgets, IT capital budgets, and be able to discuss and present a business case for all IT expenses

Requirements:

  • Pre-opening experience, project, and stakeholder management
  • College degree preferably relating to Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Five years experience in hotel IT, experience in project management, hospitality applications, PMS, HSIA, POS preferred
  • The highest level of integrity and transparency
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and a team player with high energy levels to work with cross-functional teams, negotiate for resources, and influence stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare and deliver reports, projects, effective presentations and facilitate meetings
  • Desirable Microsoft or Cisco Certifications, strong network-building and troubleshooting skills, including Microsoft Operating Systems, MAC Operating Systems, and applications
  • The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on need

Nice to have:

Knowledge of specific hospitality industry applications and interfaces (i.e. Opera, Delphi, Back Office, Spa, HR systems, etc) is desirable
