Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Director of Supply Planning to oversee key areas of supply chain operations, including forecasting, purchasing, logistics, and production scheduling. This leadership role is integral to optimizing manufacturing schedules, balancing inventory, and ensuring high performance metrics for both internal operations and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring strategic planning expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead a national team in achieving organizational goals.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage a nationwide team responsible for all aspects of supply planning, including forecasting, purchasing, and logistics
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels and manufacturing schedules for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with third-party warehouses to monitor inventory and ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment
  • Establish partnerships with vendors to improve material lead times and reduce costs
  • Oversee production planning and shipment processes to maintain a high case fill rate and meet customer expectations
  • Facilitate cross-functional Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to align forecasting and prioritization across departments
  • Support plant managers in achieving operational success by providing guidance and resources as needed
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders to address potential customer issues and propose effective solutions
  • Assist the finance team with forecasting for finished goods and raw material inventories
  • Promote teamwork and set clear objectives to enhance communication and collaboration within the supply chain team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain logistics or management roles
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams successfully
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication abilities
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
