Job Description

To take responsibility for the effective delivery of the academic programme, guaranteeing that all teaching practices, administrative processes, and associated records meet the standards set by the British Council.

Job Responsibility

  • Lesson Planning: Ensure EFL Teachers design well-structured lesson plans aligned with syllabus
  • Teaching Standards: Oversee delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Placement Testing: Coordinate and administer weekly placement assessments for new arrivals
  • Class Organisation: Manage class formation and teacher allocation
  • Monitoring Student Progress: Oversee implementation of regular progress checks
  • Academic Administration: Maintain clear and accurate records for all aspects of the academic programme
  • End-of-Course Reporting: Ensure teachers write personalised end-of-course reports for every student
  • Quality Assurance: Regularly review standard of teaching through observation, feedback, and evaluation
  • Staff Leadership and Development: Provide clear leadership to team of EFL Teachers
  • British Council: Ensure Teaching and Learning criteria are consistently met
  • Risk Assessments & Policies: Confirm detailed risk assessments are in place and reviewed
  • Student Behaviour Management: Observe and manage student conduct
  • Pastoral Support: Work with Welfare team to share information and deliver welfare care
  • Emergencies: Respond to emergencies during non-working hours in Boarding House
  • Student Transfers: Undertake student transfers courteously and efficiently
  • Social Media Photography & Video: Delegate staff to capture high-quality footage
  • Centre Requirements: Help ensure centre is set up effectively and packed away
