Job Description

Sensient is seeking a Director of Strategic Sourcing to drive change and lead a team of category managers that is accountable for all direct materials and third-party manufacturing in the Americas region. This best-in-class leader will drive the framing, scoping, execution, and implementation of a newly centralized professional procurement program that optimizes spend, unit economics, and working capital / capital expenditure commitments that propels the business activities across the organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage and develop a high performing team that will create and drive execution of category management strategies, while fostering creativity to seek non-traditional approaches that have historically “boxed-in” procurement
  • Serve as a change agent and leader of the Sensient North American Procurement team while maintaining a collaborative partnership approach with stakeholders and business leaders
  • Lead the procurement team to deliver appropriate risk management strategies, cost reductions in goods and services, and year-over-year productivity improvements - whilst maintaining or improving vendor quality & service levels
  • Ensure early involvement of Sensient’s perspective into global category strategies and ensures regional compliance to category strategies

Requirements

  • 10+ years of procurement experience, including experience in “direct” materials, preferably in manufacturing and food industry
  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering
  • Procurement team management, with a strong history of motivating and developing teams and building high-performing organizations through people, processes and culture
  • Change management, with a strong background of successfully driving large change across a matrixed organization, gaining consensus among stakeholders, and transforming to an improved state
  • Meaningful experience in driving innovative procurement strategies that are creative, non-traditional and impactful, leading to strong positive financial impacts
