Job Description:

The AI Partner Catalyst organization at Microsoft accelerates the success of the world’s most innovative AI partners, from high-growth digital native companies to established ISVs building next-generation AI solutions. The team works directly with technical founders, CTOs, and engineering leaders to design, build, and scale AI-powered products on Microsoft Cloud. We are hiring a Director of Solution Engineering for the AI Partner Catalyst team in Singapore. This leader will manage a high-performing team of Solution Engineers who design Azure and AI architectures, lead deep technical engagements, build proofs of concept, and guide partners through product development and cloud adoption. You will shape the technical strategy for AI-first partners across Asia and act as a key orchestrator between engineering, product, partner, and field teams. The role operates with startup velocity while backed by the global scale of Microsoft Cloud. It offers a unique opportunity to influence Microsoft’s position in the regional AI ecosystem while developing the next generation of technical leaders.

Job Responsibility:

  • Model Microsoft’s culture and values with clarity and energy
  • Coach Solution Engineers through technical design, customer engagement, and skill development across cloud, AI, data, applications, and engineering practices
  • Care for each team member by investing deeply in their growth, development, and long-term career paths
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top technical talent
  • Serve as the technical thought leader for the AI Partner Catalyst Solution Engineering team
  • Shape the engineering strategy for AI-first partners and help design scalable, secure, and efficient solutions on Azure
  • Guide architects and engineers in building cloud and AI solution patterns, modernization approaches, and technical roadmaps tailored to partner needs
  • Identify emerging AI, cloud, and open-source technologies and ensure the team can apply them to real scenarios
  • Coach Solution Engineers on how to engage deeply with founders, CTOs, engineering leaders, and technical decision-makers
  • Work closely with Partner Development Managers to accelerate joint solution design, competitive positioning, and technical proof points
  • Lead the technical strategy for complex or high-impact opportunities, ensuring clear orchestration across Azure, data, AI, and application teams
  • Resolve technical escalations through collaboration with product engineering, the Microsoft Technology Center, and partner engineering resources
  • Foster strong collaboration across Engineering, GBBs, Marketing, and partner teams
  • Enable the team to execute high-impact technical activities such as design sessions, demos, proofs of concept, hackathons, and production reviews
  • Ensure effective use of programs such as FastTrack and partner-led delivery models to scale impact
  • Advocate for partner needs internally and influence product roadmaps
  • Represent Microsoft Cloud at partner events, industry sessions, and technical community forums in the Asia region
  • Ensure the team maintains deep technical knowledge in AI, Azure, data platforms, app development, DevOps, and cloud-native technologies
  • Drive creation and reuse of engineering assets, solution patterns, and frameworks
  • Promote a culture of experimentation, curiosity, peer review, and engineering rigor
  • Ensure Solution Engineers guide partners through architecture design, build, modernization, optimization, and deployment
  • Align technical plans to partner priorities and regional strategy
  • Maintain operational excellence across forecasting, prioritization, and resource planning
  • Guide the team toward measurable outcomes including Azure consumption, deployment success, customer satisfaction, and strategic AI workload wins

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field and 4+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience, or equivalent
  • Candidates must have authorization to work in Singapore
