Job Description:

A leading casino and entertainment destination in New York State is seeking a highly skilled Director of Security to oversee and enhance all aspects of property safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management. This individual will develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security strategies designed to protect guests, team members, and company assets in alignment with state gaming regulations and internal controls. This is a dynamic leadership opportunity for a seasoned professional with deep experience in casino security operations, law enforcement, or military service—someone who leads with integrity, sound judgment, and a calm command presence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide strategic and operational direction to the Security Department to ensure the ongoing safety of guests, employees, and property
  • Develop, implement, and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and training programs aligned with New York State Gaming Commission requirements and casino internal controls
  • Supervise and mentor a diverse team of security professionals, ensuring effective communication across shifts and departments
  • Oversee all investigations, incident reports, and follow-up documentation
  • ensure thorough and timely reporting of all security-related matters
  • Partner closely with external agencies—including NYPD, FDNY, FBI, and USSS—to ensure coordinated response and compliance
  • Lead daily security briefings, ensuring officers are informed, aligned, and equipped to handle evolving situations
  • Identify, investigate, and report potential risks or breaches of policy, maintaining discretion and professionalism at all times
  • Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control
  • Monitor and enhance security technology and access control systems
  • oversee issuance of credentials and access protocols
  • Serve as an advisor to executive leadership, providing recommendations for process improvements and safety initiatives
  • Ensure prompt, composed, and effective response to emergencies, disturbances, or suspicious activity while maintaining guest satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or a related field (required)
  • Minimum 7 years of casino security experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity within a large-scale gaming facility (2,000+ slot machines, 100+ table games preferred)
  • Proven experience developing and executing comprehensive security programs in compliance with gaming regulations
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, emergency response, and investigative procedures
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm and authoritative under pressure
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required state and federal licenses, including a Key Gaming License from the New York State Gaming Commission
