One of Sydney's most luxurious hotel brands, Four Seasons Hotel Sydney is looking for a dynamic Director of Rooms to lead our Rooms Division, driving both strategic direction and operational excellence. This role is integral to shaping guest experiences, optimizing performance, and fostering team growth. The role balances the critical importance of strategic high level leadership with the day to day management of the operation, by developing and engaging the team, monitoring standards, problem solving and delivering results for the business, from a people, product and profit perspective.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to set strategic and operational direction
Provide leadership, coaching, and feedback, ensuring succession planning and development for Rooms Division managers and future leaders
Oversee the selection, training, and evaluation of team members to maintain service excellence
Drive performance and efficiency by setting benchmarks, improving processes, and optimizing resources
Cultivate strong relationships with guests, VIPs, and long-stay visitors, maintaining a visible presence in operations
Partner with the Commercial Division to execute revenue strategies, including suite upselling
Manage labour and operational costs through effective scheduling, budgeting, and inventory control
Oversee contracts and outsourced services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness
Lead and complete projects independently or collaboratively, responding to business needs and maximizing opportunities
Responsible for all operational, financial and people related matters in Rooms Division, leading Front Office, Housekeeping, Executive Lounge, Concierge and Guest Services
Requirements:
Extensive leadership experience in Rooms Division within a luxury 5-star setting, combining high-volume operational management with a passion for exceptional service and guest experience
Exceptional communication and relationship building skills (at all levels), with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams
Excellent financial acumen and experience managing budgets and revenue strategies
An understanding of luxury, with an eye for detail and guest-centric approach, to support the consistent delivery of exceptional Guest Experiences
The ability to prioritise, organise and lead with a resilient mindset, in a fast-paced, evolving environment
