The Director of Rooms forms part of the Hotel Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Hotel or Resort. The Director directs and controls the activities of the Front Desk, Concierge, Club Concierge, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Guest Experience and in some cases Kids for All Seasons program to ensure guests are satisfied and problems are promptly resolved. The Director also works closely with Sales and the Director of Revenue/Reservations to enhance the Hotel occupancy levels and rates.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to set strategic and operational direction
Provide leadership, coaching, and feedback, ensuring succession planning and development for Rooms Division managers and future leaders
Oversee the selection, training, and evaluation of team members to maintain service excellence
Drive performance and efficiency by setting benchmarks, improving processes, and optimizing resources
Cultivate strong relationships with guests, VIPs, and long-stay visitors, maintaining a visible presence in operations
Partner with the Commercial Division to execute revenue strategies, including suite upselling
Manage labour and operational costs through effective scheduling, budgeting, and inventory control
Oversee contracts and outsourced services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness
Lead and complete projects independently or collaboratively, responding to business needs and maximizing opportunities
Requirements:
College degree required
5 to 7 years of experience in luxury hotel/resort operations management positions highly preferred
Excellent knowledge of all aspects of Rooms Division Operations
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Excellent guest service and problem-resolution skills
Flexibility to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation
Strong organizational skills, ability to operate computer equipment, and excellent Excel and Computer Skills
Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams
Apply an ethical approach to influence the outcome of situations and serve as a role model for others by demonstrating appropriate business conduct and ethical principles
Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task in a high-volume and demanding environment
US Work Authorization is required unless candidate is currently in a managerial position at a Four Seasons Location
