Job Description

The purpose of this role is to manage and direct sales, advertising, customer agreements and display activities to promote the sale of new and existing products in all retail accounts. The Director of Retail Sales will also manage, lead, and develop the Territory Sales Managers (TSM's) and Retail Sales Merchandisers (RSM's), regarding promotions, displays and other sales opportunities within assigned accounts or territories with the objective to grow volume, share, revenue, and profit.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage the Territory Sales Manager (TSM) roles (both Large Format/Small Format) and Retail Sales Merchandisers (RSM) roles (Large Format), including hiring, development, performance management and terminations
  • Oversee and manage key customer relationships
  • Responsible for securing Customer Development Agreements, promotional activity and communicating pricing submission to the Pricing Coordinator
  • Lead and support the retail strategy for the large format and small format business segments, including execution of new product launches, brand flow information, point-of-sale, and display inventory
  • Schedule and assist in store resets at local and national accounts
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2-5 years related sales experience
  • A valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of general sales, account management and marketing techniques
  • Knowledge of inventory management and general merchandising
  • Knowledge of administration and management principles
  • Knowledge of human resources principles
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Basic knowledge of computers and tablets
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
