Under administrative supervision of the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, responsible for assessment, implementation, and evaluation of administrative operations to deliver efficient and effective delivery of patient care services within Respiratory Care, Sleep Diagnostics, and the Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs. Ensure assigned departments conform to the standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care organization (JCAHO), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), and other state, local and federal agencies having jurisdiction over services. Works in collaboration with Management team to ensure delivery of patient care services is efficient, with high quality outcomes. Acts as a department representative for internal and external customers. Responsible for hiring, directing, and evaluating designated management staff members. Takes responsibility of the fiscal, budgetary, and administrative operations of the assigned areas. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Job Responsibility
Develop and implement long-term strategies for respiratory therapy and related programs
Manage daily operations across Respiratory Care, Sleep Diagnostics, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and accreditation requirements
Promote evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement
Monitor patient outcomes and implement corrective actions as needed
Partner with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate care
Facilitate communication across departments to support integrated service delivery
Serve as a liaison with regulatory bodies, vendors, and community partners
Represent the department in hospital committees and leadership forums
Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and optimize resource utilization
Lead cost-containment and efficiency initiatives
Lead performance improvement projects and data-driven decision-making
Implement innovations in care delivery and technology adoption
Participate and support in Research Studies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care or other related field
Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Florida
Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
5 years’ experience, which must include two (3) years of leadership experience
