We are looking to recruit a Director of Product Strategy & Portfolio for a leading software company on an initial 6 month contract. This is a senior strategic role responsible for defining enterprise-wide product vision, aligning product portfolios, and ensuring investment decisions deliver measurable customer and commercial outcomes. Working closely with Product Directors, Engineering, and Go-To-Market leadership, you’ll build the strategic frameworks that guide how products evolve, innovate, and succeed across multiple markets.
Job Responsibility
Define and communicate long-term product vision and enterprise product strategy
Establish a unified strategic framework that aligns product direction across portfolios
Lead strategic roadmap planning and guide prioritisation with Product Directors
Drive market, customer, and competitive analysis to inform investment decisions
Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on product positioning and long-term planning
Build strong relationships across product, engineering, and commercial teams
Develop business cases for major initiatives, including ROI modelling and market sizing
Lead portfolio governance, prioritisation, and lifecycle management
Champion data-driven decision-making and customer-centric product strategy
Provide leadership, development, and direction to senior product managers and directors
Requirements
Deep expertise in product strategy, product portfolio management, and market analysis
Strong financial and commercial literacy, including P&L and ROI modelling
Proven ability to create clarity across complex, multi-product environments
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Experience operating in enterprise software, public sector, or multi-market technology environments
Nice to have
Experience shaping strategy across multiple product lines
Background in modern product management and agile delivery principles
Knowledge of public sector technology, policy trends, or international markets
