Job Description:

Are you a strategic, detail-driven leader passionate about shaping projects from the ground up? We're looking for a Director of Preconstruction to lead all early-phase planning and estimating efforts across our clients organization. This role oversees estimating, cost modeling, bid management, and strategic project planning—while guiding a high-performing team of preconstruction professionals. You’ll partner closely with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure project success from concept through handoff. Job Responsibility:

Lead and mentor the preconstruction team
Prepare and present detailed project estimates to clients
Build cost models from concept through bid phases
Conduct progress estimates at design milestones
Ensure accuracy and completeness of all estimates
Lead strategy meetings and manage bid processes
Track estimate changes through variance reporting
Develop scopes of work and manage bidder qualification
Oversee cost analysis and department workload
Facilitate smooth transitions from preconstruction to operations
Review/approve final estimates and bid documents
Report project cost and schedule status
Support additional strategic initiatives as needed

Requirements:

Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent
5–8 years of field construction experience with leadership responsibilities
Proven leadership and a self-starter mindset
Experience with estimating tools, cost databases, BIM, and project-management platforms
Strong understanding of project controls and accounting
