Job Responsibility

  • Oversee implementation and refinement/evolution of the People Management Strategy
  • Oversee the development of the lifetime workforce budget and workforce plan
  • Provide support and advice to Functional Area leaders across all aspects of people management
  • Shape and maintain a cohesive and inclusive workplace culture
  • Define and deliver core people processes to provide seamless employee experience
  • Ensure Brisbane 2032 optimises learnings from past Games and contributes meaningful learnings back into the movement
  • Define and deliver all talent acquisition and lifecycle activities
  • Manage key partner relationships including recruitment agency, employment law partners and training and development partners
  • Provide executive oversight of HR systems, payroll including identifying system needs, HRIS roadmap
  • Lead diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives
  • Lead HR governance, including organisational effectiveness, role and structure design and change management
  • Lead a safety culture which ensures that all relevant legislative requirements and duty of care obligations are met
  • Set the learning and development strategy and steer the design and delivery of learning solutions
  • Build connections across Brisbane Games delivery organisations and partners
  • Build, lead and develop a high performing People Management team

Requirements

  • Extensive senior leadership level HR experience within large, complex or rapidly scaling organisations
  • Tertiary qualifications in human resources or related discipline
  • Comprehensive, hands-on understanding of Queensland and Australian Industrial Relations (IR) frameworks, employment legislation, WHS requirements, and contemporary people practices
  • A demonstrated ability to balance high-level strategic planning with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and execute technical, day-to-day HR tasks
  • Proven experience designing and implementing leadership development strategies and embedding accountable, high performance and inclusive cultures
  • Comprehensive experience in remuneration system design, development and implementation, along with expertise in talent mapping and people capability development
  • Demonstrated ability to adjust communication and support styles to meet the needs of diverse client groups, from junior employees to senior executives and the Board
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and take on work at any level when required, supporting a small, fast moving team
  • Proven ability to lead teams through significant organisational change and manage complex, multi stakeholder relationships
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience managing large workforce budgets and long term resourcing strategies
  • Demonstrated capability to build and sustain an inclusive, collaborative, ambitious and agile culture.
