Job Description:

We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Director of Operations to lead and optimize the operational functions within our Commercial Banking, Small Business and Trust Operations segments. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and scalable execution of all operational processes supporting business banking clients.

Job Responsibility:

Provide strategic direction and oversight for all operational activities within Commercial Banking Operations, including client onboarding and product setup, credit fulfillment, trade finance transaction processing, trust operations, and related support functions
identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve the client experience
utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to drive continuous improvement
lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies and systems to modernize and streamline operational processes
ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements, including KYC/AML, banking regulations, and internal policies
maintain a strong control environment and proactively mitigate operational risks
lead, mentor, and develop a large team of operations professionals
foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
establish key performance indicators to monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement
develop and implement strategies to achieve operational targets
collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery to corporate clients
develop and manage the operational budget for Corporate Banking, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective operations.

Requirements:

15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years' managerial experience
must possess the technical know-how, commercial awareness and analytical skills coupled with an understanding of risk/reward dynamics and how they interact to generate sustainable profitable growth
proven record of achievement in leading large, matrixed, specific line of business experience preferred0
bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
MBA or advanced degree preferred
in-depth knowledge of commercial banking products and services, including credit operations, trade finance, onboarding best practices, electronic banking and Cash Management, FX & Derivatives and trust operations
strong understanding of KYC/AML regulations, banking regulations, and risk management principles
demonstrated experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and technology implementation
excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
fluency in English and Spanish is required.
