Job Description:

A well-established and growing roofing contractor is seeking a Director of Operations & Project Management - Commercial Roofing to oversee and unify all operational functions across construction and service divisions. This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with visibility into all aspects of the business and a clear path to VP-level leadership. This position requires a strong operator with deep roofing industry experience who can lead from the front—driving performance, improving processes, and ensuring consistent execution across multiple teams and projects.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee all operational functions including Construction, Pre-Construction, Project Management, Service, Warehouse, Logistics, and Field Operations
  • Lead and develop a team of Director-level reports across construction project management and service divisions
  • Drive operational performance across key metrics including gross profit, labor utilization, backlog, and DSO
  • Partner with Sales, Estimating, and Finance to ensure operational readiness and support growth initiatives
  • Improve systems, workflows, and processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and project delivery
  • Maintain strong visibility into field operations, with regular interaction with construction teams
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality execution across all projects and service work

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in operations, construction management, or commercial contracting
  • Strong roofing industry experience required
  • Experience leading multiple departments and large operational teams
  • Strong financial acumen with understanding of job costing, margins, and operational KPIs
  • Background overseeing both project management and service divisions
  • Proven ability to improve processes, drive performance, and lead in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
