This is a dynamic opportunity for a seasoned Skilled Nursing professional, whose goal is to improve the lives of others and exceed all expectations. The Director of Nursing’s primary responsibilities include planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of our Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines and regulations and clinical standards of care that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Job Responsibility:
Planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department
Ensuring compliance with current federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines and regulations and clinical standards of care

Requirements:
Must possess a degree in Nursing from an accredited school
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington
Baccalaureate degree preferred
Working knowledge of the needs of the aging and chronically ill requiring long term care
Working knowledge of the principles of management, supervision, organizational behavior and structure, and communication systems
A physical examination and/or evidence from a physician indicating freedom of communicable disease to be available upon employment
Must be in good physical and mental health
Ability to work independently or part of a group
Effectively communicate with others
Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
Knowledge of elderly ill and/or disabled
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition
Basic understanding of following step-by-step procedures
Follows and understands written and oral directions
Knowledge of equipment used in long-term care (e.g., lifts, wheelchairs, Geri chairs, and scales)
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
