Job Description:

The Director of Emergency Services reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer at Winston Salem campus, overseeing nursing practice across all areas of responsibility. This role also involves administrative oversight of Emergency Services. The Director collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer and the Chief Nurse Executive for the Wake Area to develop strategic and operational plans at the area level. Additionally, the Director addresses the needs of the staff by assisting in their supervision, interviewing, and selection. Under the Director's guidance, delegated supervisory personnel participate in employee performance evaluations, orientation, and training. The Director works closely with Emergency Services line leaders to ensure that resources, including staff, facilities, supplies, and systems, are sufficient to deliver the highest quality of patient care in a cost-effective manner.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Management, or Business Administration
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Five years in field of Cardiovascular Services or relevant nursing areas
  • Three years' experience in a management or supervisory position in a tertiary hospital setting
  • Active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of applicable state required
  • Certification in administration or clinical specialty within one year of hire
