The Director of Network Services is responsible for the strategy, architecture, and operations of Carrier’s global network infrastructure, enabling secure, resilient, and high-performing connectivity across factories, SaaS platforms, and cloud environments. This role ensures alignment with business objectives and supports digital transformation initiatives.
Job Responsibility:
Define and execute global network services strategy aligned with digital transformation goals
Develop multi-year roadmap for modernization, automation, and cloud integration
Oversee network architecture standards ensuring security and compliance
Drive design and optimization across routing, switching, WAN, cloud connectivity, VPN, and firewall protection
Provide executive oversight for global network operations, including 24/7 NOC
Ensure robust incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis
Partner with cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure teams for secure and resilient services
Establish governance frameworks leveraging ITIL/ITSM best practices
Manage global network services budgets and vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and cost optimization
Build and lead high-performing global teams through coaching and succession planning
Foster continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation across the organization
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Technical proficiency in WAN, Routing and Switching, Firewall solutions, and Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
5 years of Experience leading large, distributed teams and managing complex global environments
7 years of Experience in ITIL and ITSM frameworks, governance best practices, and continuous improvement
5 years of experience in metrics-driven management and leadership of complex programs to deliver measurable outcomes
Nice to have:
Intermediate-level cloud networking expertise: Familiarity with hybrid cloud architectures and SD-WAN solutions
Automation and orchestration skills: Experience with tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Python scripting for network automation
Security-focused networking knowledge: Understanding of Zero Trust principles and intermediate experience with next-generation firewalls and VPN technologies
Vendor and contract management: Experience negotiating with global network service providers and optimizing cost structures
Cross-functional collaboration: Proven ability to work with cybersecurity, cloud, and application teams to deliver secure and resilient connectivity
Certifications: CCNP, AWS Networking Specialty, or equivalent intermediate-level credentials
Soft skills: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to translate technical concepts into business outcomes
