Mantell Associates is partnered with an innovative molecular diagnostics company, who is seeking a Director of Market Access – Veterans Affairs (Mid-West) to lead strategic engagement with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and regional federal healthcare systems. This role will focus on ensuring optimal reimbursement, coverage, and adoption of the company’s molecular diagnostic portfolio across the Mid-West Veterans Affairs network. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing molecular diagnostics company and play a key role in expanding patient access to innovative diagnostic technologies across federal healthcare systems.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement market access strategies to secure reimbursement and coverage for the company’s diagnostic portfolio across the Veterans Affairs healthcare system
Build and maintain strong relationships with VA stakeholders, healthcare administrators, laboratory leaders, and clinical decision-makers
Communicate the clinical and economic value of molecular diagnostic technologies to support adoption within federal healthcare systems
Partner closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Health Economics teams to develop compelling value propositions and evidence-based access strategies
Monitor federal reimbursement policies, coverage frameworks, and procurement processes affecting diagnostic technologies
Support product launches by ensuring access considerations are integrated into commercialization strategies
Provide regional market insights to inform pricing, contracting, and payer engagement strategies
Represent the organization at relevant healthcare and federal market access forums and industry events
Track and report on key access metrics and regional coverage progress to senior leadership
Requirements:
Significant experience in market access, reimbursement, or payer strategy within diagnostics, biotechnology, or healthcare
Strong understanding of U.S. healthcare reimbursement frameworks, including federal payer systems
Experience working with molecular diagnostics, genomic testing, or precision medicine technologies highly desirable
Proven track record of securing reimbursement or improving coverage for diagnostic or healthcare technologies
Strong knowledge of U.S. payer and policy environments, including public healthcare systems
Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work cross-functionally across commercial, medical, and regulatory teams
Willingness to travel across the Mid-West territory to support VA engagement activities
