Job Description

Manages security/loss prevention operations on a daily basis. Areas of responsibilities include protection of property assets, employees, guests and property, accident and fire prevention and response. Ensures that all areas of the property are safe and secure. Maintains logs, certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of the department.

Job Responsibility

Manages security/loss prevention operations on a daily basis
Protection of property assets, employees, guests and property
Accident and fire prevention and response
Ensure all areas of the property are safe and secure
Maintain logs, certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures
Strive to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance of the department
Assist in the development and implementation of emergency procedures
Conduct investigation of all losses of property assets
Deploy security staff to effectively monitor and protect property assets
Comply with all Corporate Loss Prevention safety and security management guidelines and procedures
Conduct periodic patrols of entire property and parking areas
Handle complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts
Identify and make recommendations for minimizing physical hazards and unsafe work practices
Implement action plans to monitor and control risk
Maintain required reports and documentation regarding patrols of property and parking areas
Provide means for obtaining necessary medical attention on a timely basis
Lead security/loss prevention teams
Attend pre- and post-convention and weekly forecast meetings
Celebrate successes by publicly recognizing contributions of team members
Communicate the importance of safety procedures
Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
Identify developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring
Provide guidance and direction to subordinates
Provide personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support
Serve as a role model

Complete proper documentation and report all employee accident and general liability incidents
Conduct hourly employee performance appraisals
Complete disciplinary procedures and documentation
Administer property policies fairly and consistently
Maintain first aid and CPR certifications for Loss Prevention officers
Handle guest problems and complaints
Identify educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs
Provide services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention
Analyze information and evaluating results to choose the best solution
Develop and maintain working relationship with local law enforcement authorities
Inform and/or update executives, peers and subordinates on relevant information
Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
4 years experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area
2-year degree from an accredited university in Criminal Justice or related major
2 years experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area
