Job Description

Robert Half HR Solutions is currently partnering with a growing company in the Metro Atlanta area that is looking to add a strategic and experienced Director of Labor Relation to their team. The Director of Labor Relations will lead and oversee all aspects of labor relations across a complex, multi-state U.S. and Canadian workforce. This individual will serve as a key advisor to senior leadership, driving labor strategy, guiding union-related initiatives, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive labor relations strategy that supports business objectives and mitigates risk
  • Lead union-related initiatives, including organizing campaigns, avoidance strategies, and response planning
  • Serve as lead negotiator or provide strategic direction during collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and labor negotiations
  • Advise and coach HR and business leaders on labor relations matters, ensuring consistent and compliant practices
  • Provide direction and oversight to internal labor relations team members and external partners
  • Partner with senior leadership to address complex labor issues and drive proactive solutions
  • Monitor labor trends, legislation, and regulatory changes across U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions
  • Support multi-site operations with consistent labor relations guidance while adapting to regional nuances

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive labor relations experience, including leadership-level responsibility
  • Proven experience developing labor relations strategies in unionized environments
  • Direct experience leading or supporting union campaigns and organizing efforts
  • Strong background in collective bargaining, negotiations, and dispute resolution
  • Experience supporting multi-state U.S. operations and Canadian labor environments
  • Strategic, big-picture thinker with the ability to translate strategy into execution
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and guide senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required
