The Director of Investigations (APJ) will be responsible for conducting investigations into allegations of violations of HPE's Standards of Business Conduct ("SBC") and facilitating and providing legal guidance regarding government investigations and other matters. He/she will manage a cross-functional team of lawyers, investigators, and audit professionals to oversee some of HPE’s most sensitive and important investigative matters. He/she will report to the Vice President of Investigations in HPE’s Ethics & Compliance Office ("ECO"), and will be part of a global team handling investigations throughout the company. He/she may also represent the company before industry policy setting organizations, government agencies, and other regulatory bodies.
Job Responsibility
Conduct complex internal and external investigations on behalf of HPE's global SBC program and associated internal partners
Identify and resolve complex legal issues
Work collaboratively with teammates, internal stakeholders, and outside counsel
Draft investigation reports for executive level review and law enforcement engagement
Deliver on program goals and timelines
Manage a cross-functional team of experts
Occasional travel within the region and possibly elsewhere, sometimes on short notice
Requirements
Advanced university degree in law (e.g., JD or LLB)
10 or more years of legal experience at a law firm, government, or in-house
Ability to manage complex investigations in a thorough yet efficient manner
Experience conducting ethics and compliance related investigations in an in-house or law firm environment is preferred
government experience is a plus
Demonstrated ability to work with wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds, countries of origin, and at varying levels within an organizational structure
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to act independently and responsibly while demonstrating sound and ethical judgment
Ability to manage work on deadlines and with competing demands
Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in complex situations. Sound, proven judgment is a must
Nice to have
Experience conducting ethics and compliance related investigations in an in-house or law firm environment is preferred
government experience is a plus
