Job Description:

Silvus is seeking a full-time Director of International Strategic Programs to lead the execution and lifecycle management of key international defense and security programs. This role reports to the Senior Director of International Sales and Business Development and works closely with the broader International Sales team to ensure successful program delivery and alignment with strategic objectives. As a key member of the International Sales team, this individual will serve as the senior point of contact responsible for delivery, coordination, and stakeholder management of major international programs. This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strong leadership, program discipline, and a deep understanding of international defense and government contracting environments.

Job Responsibility:

  • Program Leadership: Serve as the lead for all designated international Strategic Programs, owning the full lifecycle from transition through fulfillment and sustainment
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Interface directly with international government stakeholders, channel partners, end users, internal engineering, operations, and support teams
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Orchestrate efforts across Sales Engineering, Applications Engineering, Product, Production, Finance, Legal/Compliance, and Logistics to ensure flawless program delivery
  • Schedule & Milestone Management: Establish and maintain program baselines including schedule, scope, and configuration management in alignment with customer and internal expectations
  • Resource Planning: Allocate internal and external resources effectively to deliver against timelines and SLAs. Coordinate with supply chain to ensure readiness for international shipments, certifications, and local compliance
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor program P&L, ensure financial tracking aligns with forecasted revenue milestones, and drive profitability without sacrificing quality or compliance
  • Risk Management: Identify risks unique to international programs (e.g., export regulations, delivery constraints, political variables) and develop proactive mitigation strategies
  • Reporting & Governance: Own reporting on program performance, forecasts, and stakeholder updates—leveraging tools such as dashboards, briefings, and quarterly reviews
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure ongoing satisfaction and relationship growth with key strategic clients, including identifying opportunities for follow-on phases or expanded deployments
  • Travel Requirements - Up to 30-40% international travel expected to visit client sites, local partners, oversee deployment success, and attend corporate events

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, International Affairs, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience managing complex programs in defense, aerospace, or technology sectors
  • Proven success managing international customers, foreign government stakeholders, and multi-country deployments
  • Demonstrated program management acumen, including scheduling, budgeting, and issue resolution
  • Familiarity with U.S. export controls (e.g., ITAR/EAR) and defense contracting practices
  • Ability to lead with diplomacy and manage diverse cross-cultural teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with executive presence
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring or team management.

Nice to have:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or International Policy
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar program management certification
  • Background working with FMF-funded programs or U.S. FMS/DCS arms sales
  • Military background or direct experience working with foreign armed forces
  • Proficiency in additional language(s) a plus
