Job Description

The Public Schools of Brookline seeks qualified candidates for the full-time exempt position of Director of Human Resources. Our district serves approximately 7,000 students and operates eight K-8 schools and one high school. Under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent for Administration and Finance, the Director leads and manages all aspects of the district’s human resource functions and staff. The Director will collaborate with the leadership and human resources teams to lead district-wide efforts to become more strategic in the areas of talent acquisition, performance management, engagement and retention.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
  • Experience with collective bargaining and labor relations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google applications, HRIS and applicant tracking systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources administration, public administration, business or a related field
  • Minimum of five years’ experience including three years supervising and developing staff
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or similar credentialing desired
