Job Description

We are partnering with a well-established, highly respected professional services firm in the Chicago area to identify a Director of Human Resources. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing day-to-day HR operations while partnering closely with leadership on key people initiatives. This is a hands-on, highly visible role ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in both strategic planning and the execution of core HR functions.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead all aspects of HR including employee relations, performance management, recruiting, and compliance
  • Partner with leadership to support organizational growth and workforce planning
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and annual review cycles
  • Manage and mentor a team of administrative staff
  • Play an active role in recruiting efforts across the organization, including collaboration with hiring committees
  • Drive HR reporting, metrics, and process improvements to support decision-making

Requirements

  • 10+ years of HR leadership experience within professional services (legal preferred)
  • Strong generalist background with experience across the full HR lifecycle
  • Proven ability to operate in a hands-on, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Experience managing or supporting administrative or professional staff populations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of an organization
  • Comfortable navigating sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
