As a Director of Hardware Engineering, you play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products. Your mission? To manage a dynamic team of mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, NPI engineers, and reliability engineers. You will drive the successful development of Lime vehicles and new technologies. This is a remote role with regular visits to our engineering offices in Kunshan and Shenzhen, and occasional travel to Lime’s global offices and Lime’s supplier sites.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage a China based team of hardware engineers - including Mechanical, Electrical, New Product Introduction, and Reliability Engineering
  • Provide subject matter expertise and thought partnership to shape and influence future roadmaps, product architectures, technology investments, partnerships, and product plans
  • Provide technical oversight and management of ODM and JDM supplier relationships and projects
  • Own the hardware development process from concept to launch
  • Work across multiple technologies, facilitating deep technical discussions on product architecture and product design/development tradeoffs
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout our process, constantly seeking opportunities to enhance our methodologies and mechanisms to deliver exceptional products to our consumers
  • Stay abreast of new technologies relevant to our industry and implement them when feasible
  • Bring best in class tools and processes to Lime’s development processes

Requirements

  • 12+ years experience in Hardware Development with experience directing development programs, creating technology strategy, and developing great Engineering Managers
