Director of Finance

• Lead the development and administration of the annual operating budget, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and fiscal guidelines
• Oversee month-end closing activities, reviewing financial results for accuracy, completeness, and timely submission
• Direct budget planning and monitoring efforts, including variance analysis and recommendations for corrective action when needed
• Prepare and present financial reports that support executive decision-making and provide clear insight into performance and trends
• Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning to help maintain financial stability and support ongoing operations
• Ensure compliance with applicable governmental accounting standards, policies, and reporting requirements within a county government environment
• Partner with department leaders to evaluate financial needs, improve budget discipline, and strengthen accountability across the organization
• Support audits and financial reviews by maintaining organized records, coordinating documentation, and addressing findings appropriately

• Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, financial reporting, and close processes in a finance leadership role
• Strong knowledge of annual budget development, budget controls, and financial analysis
• Ability to interpret financial data, communicate recommendations clearly, and present information to senior stakeholders
• Proven understanding of cash flow management, internal controls, and compliance requirements
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams, set priorities, and meet critical deadlines

Certified Public Accountant designation preferred or willing to become a CPA
