Job Responsibility
Direct accounting and finance operations to support accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient business practices across the organization
Monitor daily liquidity needs, manage cash activity, and develop cash flow forecasts to inform short- and long-term planning
Lead, coach, and supervise finance staff while ensuring appropriate coverage for critical accounting and administrative functions
Coordinate the annual external audit, oversee preparation of financial statements, and manage documentation required for tax filings, including Form 990
Drive the yearly budgeting cycle by establishing timelines, communicating expectations, reviewing submissions, and consolidating financial plans into leadership-ready reports
Strengthen internal controls and financial procedures to protect organizational assets and improve the reliability of financial data
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and deliver financial statements, variance analyses, and dashboard reporting to executives and the board
Prepare or supervise required reporting for government agencies, funders, and other external stakeholders, including records related to grants and contracts
Serve as a financial representative of the organization with committees, community partners, and other external groups as needed
Requirements
Demonstrated leadership experience in finance, accounting, or business operations, preferably within a nonprofit or mission-focused environment
Strong knowledge of annual budgeting, financial reporting, and month-end close processes
Experience managing audits, tax documentation, and compliance reporting for external agencies or funders
Proven ability to analyze cash flow, develop forecasts, and support strategic financial planning
Familiarity with internal controls, fiscal governance, and practices that safeguard organizational resources
Experience supervising staff, developing team capabilities, and maintaining effective departmental operations
Ability to present financial information clearly to senior leadership, boards, and non-financial stakeholders
