The Director of Finance is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, planning, strategy, and risk management. The Director of Finance will ensure the organization’s financial health, support strategic decision-making, and lead the finance, accounting, and revenue cycle functions to drive growth and profitability. This role includes hands-on responsibilities in financial planning, analysis, and compliance. Key activities include budgeting, forecasting, developing a 5-year strategic plan, and managing a team of three in the accounting department.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee accounting, financial reporting, audits, tax planning, and regulatory compliance
Institute controls and policies to the finance department
Ensure robust internal controls and timely financial statements
Provide guidance on business structure and tax strategies for the organization
Develop and execute the financial strategy aligned with short- and long-term business goals
Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, advising on growth opportunities, M&A, pricing models, and operational efficiency
Provide modeling and risk assessments on current business as well as business opportunities, licensing deals, and acquisitions
Lead forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes for all departments and business opportunities
Build KPIs and dashboards to monitor margins, customer profitability, and operational efficiency
Lead initiatives in cost containment, inventory optimization, and distributor profitability analysis
Manage cash flow, capital structure, and banking relationships
Oversee insurance, legal risk exposure, and contractual financial terms
Lead and scale the finance, billing, and revenue cycle teams
Potential to oversee additional departments that could include IT, supply chain, future manufacturing, future regulatory, etc.
Mentor talent and create a performance-driven culture.
Requirements:
BS Degree in Accounting and CPA or MBA
At least 10 years of experience including leading the accounting function and with a depth of experience in financial analytics including building pro-formas, and forecasting
Strength in leadership skills and developing high performing teams
Experience collaborating with operations, sales and the leadership team to provide valuable financials information in supporting key decisions
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and financial analytics, including expertise in forecasting and building pro-formas
Proven leadership skills with a track record of developing and managing high-performing teams
Proficiency in financial planning and analysis, including long-range financial planning and strategic modeling
Strong technical knowledge of accounting software systems and processes, including month-end close and financial statement preparation
Experience working closely with operations and sales teams to provide data-driven insights that support decision-making
Familiarity with budgeting, auditing, and managing compliance requirements
Excellent communication and analytical skills, with a focus on driving results and efficiency.
