Director of Finance

• Oversee annual fiscal budget preparation for budget >$250M
• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making
• Manage and direct the Finance Department’s daily operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial processes
• Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
• Supervise cash management activities, maintaining liquidity and financial stability for the municipality
• Administer risk management programs, identifying and mitigating potential financial risks
• Coordinate internal and external auditing processes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards
• Oversee tax collection efforts, ensuring accurate and efficient revenue generation
• Collaborate with department managers to streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiency
• Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings

• Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting within a municipal or governmental setting
• Strong knowledge of cash management and auditing practices
• Proficiency in financial software systems, including Munis
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights
• Experience in managing risk and implementing effective risk management strategies
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and collaborate with diverse teams
• Familiarity with tax collection processes and revenue management
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities to handle complex financial operations
