Job Description

A rapidly growing mid-sized organization is seeking a Director of Finance & Accounting to help lead the next phase of the company’s evolution. With ambitious plans to scale revenue and expand operations, this role will be instrumental in strengthening the finance and accounting infrastructure needed to support sustained growth. This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who thrives in dynamic, growth-oriented environments and has a proven ability to drive change, build scalable processes, and elevate financial operations. The Director of Finance & Accounting will partner closely with executive leadership and oversee the day-to-day accounting function while helping shape the strategic financial direction of the organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Partner with executive leadership to support strategic growth initiatives and scaling efforts
  • Provide clear financial insights and analysis to guide operational and strategic decision-making
  • Develop and refine financial reporting, KPIs, and dashboards to support a growing organization
  • Oversee all core accounting functions including general ledger, month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process
  • Evaluate existing accounting and finance processes and implement improvements to support increased complexity and transaction volume
  • Lead initiatives around automation, system optimization, and scalable financial infrastructure
  • Establish strong internal controls and streamlined workflows as the business grows
  • Develop, mentor, and lead the accounting and finance team
  • Foster a collaborative, hands-on culture where no task is too big or too small
  • Help build a finance organization that can support future growth and expansion
  • Design processes and reporting structures capable of supporting rapid revenue growth and operational expansion

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership experience
  • Experience in mid-sized or scaling companies where building processes and infrastructure was critical
  • Strong background in change management, process improvement, and financial systems optimization
  • Proven ability to implement scalable accounting processes and internal controls
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial information for non-financial leaders
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically
