Job Description

Peak Nano is seeking a Director of Field Engineering to serve as the technical architect of our sales process. Act as a bridge between our internal R&D/Manufacturing teams and OEM component & systems companies such as Vishay, TDK, Tesla, and Commonwealth Fusion Systems. While the Sales Director manages commercial relationships, you will own the technical roadmap, qualification, testing, and approval processes to secure 'Design Wins'. You will lead a global team in translating customer performance requirements into successful OEM qualifications for capacitors, optimizing performance with Peak Nano’s dielectric films. Sales Collaboration: Partner with the Sales Director to identify use cases, remove technical roadblocks, and resolve testing delays to keep the sales pipeline moving. Technical Account Management: Lead the technical 'Design Win' lifecycle from initial sample characterization to final OEM qualification and production rollout. The Technical 'Design Win' Cycle: You will own the technical execution of the OEM sales process, including: Use Case Definition: Identifying the specific technical problems (e.g., heat, energy density) the client must solve. OEM Testing: Providing on-site support during critical qualification trials. Testing & Validation: Coordinate onsite film evaluation, troubleshoot failures, analyze root causes, and propose material adjustments to meet customer specifications.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science
  • 5+ years in a technical role (Application Engineering, R&D, or Field Engineering) related to capacitors, dielectric films, or polymer extrusion
  • Deep understanding of capacitor physics, dielectric breakdown, metrology, and OEM qualification standards (e.g., IEC, AEC-Q200)
  • Ability to explain complex polymer science to commercial teams and complex business constraints to R&D team.

Nice to have

  • MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science
  • Domain knowledge and experience in EV, Power Grid, Fusion, and Data Centers
  • Proven ability to serve as the primary technical expert for customers
