Job Description:

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts. We’re looking for a hands-on Director of Facilities Infrastructure to build and lead a world-class facilities and maintenance organization. This role is responsible for all maintenance operations across our growing footprint of high-throughput aerospace factories — ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving uptime across hundreds of CNC machines and other critical infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for both strategic planning and tactical execution, building a proactive maintenance culture that acts as a customer service engine to our production teams. Hadrian’s next production facility opens at the end of 2025 with 120+ machine tools — and this role will be foundational in supporting that scale.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build and lead a high-performing, strategic, multi-site maintenance team
  • Own maintenance strategy across all factories: including preventative maintenance and long-range asset planning
  • Establish clear KPIs and accountability for uptime, responsiveness, and PM execution
  • Define headcount and budget planning for maintenance and facilities functions
  • Instill a strong customer-service mindset and culture of urgency within the team
  • Implement and standardize preventative maintenance (PM) programs across all sites, using real-time data
  • Monitor asset performance, schedule maintenance, and analyze trends for predictive maintenance opportunities
  • Partner with production and workforce development teams to standardize common maintenance/error response activities and embed in the production technician workflow
  • Own communication and escalation protocols for equipment downtime
  • Create structured communication cadences, including daily check-ins with site teams, weekly maintenance status updates, and monthly KPI reporting to leadership
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans to address recurring equipment failures
  • Continuously analyze downtime data to drive process and equipment improvements
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to align maintenance with operational priorities
  • Build strategic relationships with service providers and OEMs to reduce response times and parts lead times
  • Negotiate service contracts and lead critical spares planning to control cost
  • Contribute to capital planning — including asset lifecycle, upgrades, and tooling needs
  • Ensure all maintenance activities meet aerospace and safety regulatory requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements that improve uptime and reduce cost
  • Own safety outcomes and audit readiness for maintenance and facility-related activities.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance or facilities operations
  • Track record of scaling high-performing technical teams
  • Strong understanding of CNC machinery, mechanical systems, and automation controls
  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, or medical devices
  • Hands-on approach to problem-solving, communication, and collaboration
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
What we offer:
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
  • 401k
  • Relocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need
  • Flexible vacation policy
