Job Description

Director of Electric Operations. FLSA Exempt, Non-Union, 40 hours per week. Responsible for the management and supervision of the Light Department’s Electric division, fire alarm system, and traffic signal system.

Job Responsibility

  • Responsible for the management and supervision of the Light Department’s Electric division, fire alarm system, and traffic signal system
  • Performs complex administrative and technical work regarding all aspects of the planning, budgeting, and operations of the division
  • Demonstrates knowledge of electrical transmission substations, operation, maintenance, and safety standards for high-voltage equipment
  • Ensures compliance to all applicable regulations and procedures governing Transmission and Distribution Operations including North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) & ISO/NE Criteria
  • Responsible for AMI, Outage Management System, and SCADA system
  • Supervises all business, engineering, construction, operation, and maintenance functions
  • Supervises, evaluates, and assists all Electric Division employees
  • Remains available for on-call duty 24/7
  • Develops and maintains safety program

Requirements

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of managerial, technical, and supervisory experience in the electric utility transmission (115 kV) and distribution (15 kV) operation
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Driver’s license required
