Job Description:

The Director of DSD Sales is responsible for the tactical execution and performance of the field DSD team. The Director of DSD Sales, in partnership with the Director of Brand Strategy, will ensure that the Novelty Express brand is executed in accordance with the organization’s brand identity and maintains consistency. This role drives brand equity and collaborates with cross-functional teams to align brand vision with business objectives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Directly oversee and manage assigned MRW District Sales Managers and Divisional Sales Support and any other assigned personnel related to DSD Sales Operations
  • Work in conjunction with the Director of Grocery Sales, Food Sales Manager, and the VP of Sales on any customer relations issues
  • Monitor call frequency, territory management, and route effectiveness
  • Ensure consistent application of sales standards, promotions, and merchandising
  • Manage sales KPIs: GP vs PY, account quality, call compliance (utilizing Repsley)
  • Take the lead and ensure that good customer relationships are maintained for DSD Sales Division
  • Collaborate with leaders from MRW Operations, Accounting, Purchasing, and Human Resources departments on initiatives that benefit our customers and employees
  • Identify rep training needs and ensure timely onboarding and development
  • Reinforce accountability through structured ride-alongs and performance management
  • Drive top-line sales by cultivating new external accounts and following up on internal account leads generated
  • Drive Bottom-Line Performance by ensuring that proper operational controls are in place to maximize profitability
  • Lead weekly L10 Meetings with Direct Reports and Cross Functional DSD Team
  • Collaborate with District Sales Managers to ensure that Novelty Personnel and Fleet comply with and adhere to all applicable DOT regulations and standards
  • Maintain high visibility in the field (2+ ride days/week)
  • Proactively flag rep, territory, or account performance concerns
  • Deliver clear tactical plans aligned with broader sales strategy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Sales or related field)
  • Proven experience in sales management
  • Proficient in basic accounting
  • Detail-oriented and sound organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work under stress and resolve conflict
  • The ability to motivate staff and lead a team
  • Ability to travel to Trade Shows and key Accounts within all MRW territories
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Drug and Physical Screen per DOT guidelines
