Arc is looking for a highly strategic, client-facing Director of Commerce Experience to drive omnichannel retail strategy for a small portfolio of CPG clients. In this role, you will serve as a bridge between shopper marketing and media teams and oversee the holistic connections strategy across our clients’ commerce-driving campaigns, integrating across retail media, 3P commerce media, consumer promotions, and in-store marketing to ensure alignment to client business goals, synergy with national media efforts, and full integration across all touch points of the shopper journey.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the overall connected commerce strategy including establishing channel mix, role/rationale of channel, investment, and measurement recommendations
Partner with Strategy teams to identify shopper insights that help fuel the overall connected commerce strategy
Co-lead brainstorms with creative team to ideate media channels and tactics that best pair with the retailer, shopper, and creative idea
Lead audience strategy to translate the creative audience to an addressable media audience that can be activated across media plans and work in concert with other media activity
Develop commerce maps that showcase the campaign shopper journey
Lead 3P commerce media plan development and measurement strategy
Drive cross-channel measurement strategy across all commerce-driving activity
Educate cross-functional teams and clients on best practices and strategies for omnichannel marketing campaigns
Share updates, insights, and strategic POVs to keep shopper and media clients abreast of the ever-changing commerce media landscape
Lead co-development program recap reports across an IAT environment
Help manage and oversee the maintenance of investment trackers
Assist media teams with media billing and reconciliation
Requirements:
10+ years of progressively-responsible experience building and leading omnichannel commerce, shopper, and retail media strategies for CPG brands
Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, or related media field preferred
experience may be substituted
Experience & expertise driving omnichannel strategy, tactical planning and partner management in the discipline of retail/shopper marketing within an agency, retailer’s media organization, or CPG’s trade or customer marketing department
Deep understanding of the omnichannel marketing opportunities across different retailer verticals
Understanding of retail media network (RMNs) offerings and how to best leverage 3P media providers (digital, in store, promos, etc.) to supplement RMN plans
Clear understanding of first, second, and third-party data and how to apply it within the commerce strategies
specifically, how to integrate key insights from an audience strategy into addressable media plans within a holistic integrated ecosystem
Adept at analyzing results, synthesizing data, drawing out insights & implications, and developing insightful and actionable reporting and recommendations
Experience working within a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team on shopper-focused campaigns
Experience leading strategy as a part of a larger IAT
Experience partnering directly with clients to confidently present work, articulate rationale for approach in the context of both business and user needs, and workshop and brainstorm iterative changes to ongoing projects
Ability to identify, synthesize, respond to, and resolve issues and conflicts as they arise
Sound decision-making ability rooted in agency, client, and industry knowledge
Comfort operating with a high level of ownership, autonomy, and accountability
An outstanding listener with clear and persuasive verbal and written communication and presentation skills, a high degree of emotional intelligence, and an ability to tell a smart, concise story using data
Experience communicating with and presenting to executive-level clients on a regular basis
A natural sense of urgency with an ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately within tight deadlines and constantly-evolving project parameters, scope, and goals
Flexible and adaptable with an ability to manage and drive success across multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
