This fixed-term maternity cover position combines two distinct roles across Clinical Operations and Clinical Governance. The role holder will ensure effective operational delivery in line with strategic, contractual and regulatory requirements, while maintaining appropriate separation between clinical operational management aligned to the Group’s strategic plans and clinical governance oversight, ensuring that assurance processes remain objective and effective. The role reports directly to the Managing Director of Opcare, providing national leadership to drive consistency in service delivery, workforce development and implementation of key clinical programmes. It also provides independent oversight of clinical governance, patient safety, professional standards and regulatory compliance, ensuring robust frameworks are embedded and continuously improved.
Job Responsibility:
Provide national clinical operational leadership to ensure safe, effective and efficient service delivery aligned with contractual, regulatory and strategic requirements
Lead development, implementation and improvement of the standard operating model, including clinical processes, documentation and enabling technologies
Provide independent oversight of clinical governance, including patient safety incidents, investigations, audit schedules and compliance with regulatory requirements
Lead national service improvement, transformation initiatives and workforce development programmes, including competency frameworks, recruitment pathways and structured training
Act as the key liaison between clinical teams and enabling functions (operations, commercial, IT etc.) ensuring alignment between clinical delivery and commercial strategy
Requirements:
Experience working across multi-site healthcare services at a national or regional level
Significant experience in leading large-scale service improvement and standardisation projects
Strong clinical governance and patient safety capability, with working knowledge of regulatory and assurance frameworks
Strong leadership, communication and analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality and performance data
Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline (level 6 or equivalent experience)
Evidence of continuous professional development
Nice to have:
Registration with a relevant healthcare professional body
Experience within specialist clinical services such as rehabilitation, prosthetics/orthotics or wheelchair services
Experience supporting mobilisation, transformation or integration of services
Qualification or formal training in patient safety incident response
Training in audit methodology or quality improvement frameworks
