The Director of Children and Family Ministry will be a creative, relational, and resourceful leader who fosters a culture where children are discipled, families are equipped, and volunteers are encouraged. We envision a ministry that cultivates the joy of the Lord and deep connection to His family in the lives of our children. The Director will lead, develop, and oversee ministry for children (birth through 5th grade) and their families, creating a biblically based, Christ-centered, safe, and engaging environment where children can receive a firm foundation for a growing relationship with God.

Job Responsibility:

  • Recruit, train, and care for volunteers so teams are supported and sustainable
  • Strengthen parent partnership and clear, timely communication with families
  • Improve coordination and transitions between children’s ministry and youth ministry
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate children’s ministry programming (Sunday School, Children’s Worship, Vacation Bible School, seasonal events, etc.)
  • Select and adapt age-appropriate curriculum that is biblically based, theologically sound, and engaging for children
  • Cultivate a welcoming environment that is joyful and grounded in Christ’s love
  • Support children with diverse learning and behavioral needs by helping volunteers use wise, calm, and appropriate adaptations
  • Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers for children’s ministry
  • Provide spiritual encouragement and practical resources for those serving in the ministry
  • Set volunteers up to succeed and build healthy connections with children
  • Partner with parents as the primary spiritual nurturers of their children
  • Offer resources, events, and opportunities for families to grow together in faith
  • Steward children’s ministry spaces, budget, and resources to cultivate a joyful, engaging, vibrant environment
  • Ensure all children’s ministry programs comply with church safety and child protection policies

Requirements:

  • A mature and growing faith in Christ, with a passion for nurturing the faith of children and families
  • Knowledge and love of Scripture as the Word of God
  • Commitment to the essential tenets of ECO
  • Prior experience leading children’s ministry in a church or Christian ministry setting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to build warm, meaningful relationships with children, parents, and volunteers
  • Facility with technology and media for communication and teaching
  • Bachelor’s degree
