The Director of Catering is responsible for leading the catering function to drive revenue growth, operational excellence, and exceptional guest experiences. This senior leadership role requires strong financial acumen, forecasting expertise, and the ability to manage high-performing teams while overseeing corporate, social, and wedding events in alignment with the hotel’s luxury brand standards.
Job Responsibility:
Lead, mentor, and manage the catering sales and events team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and service excellence
Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular evaluations, and provide coaching and career development opportunities
Oversee staffing, training, and succession planning to ensure consistent service delivery across all event segments
Drive catering revenue through proactive solicitation and conversion of corporate meetings, conferences, social events, and weddings
Demonstrate strong corporate and wedding acumen, tailoring sales strategies, proposals, and experiences to each segment
Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, event organizers, and key stakeholders
Lead all catering sales activities including lead management, contract negotiations, and event confirmations
Develop and manage catering budgets, revenue targets, and expense controls with strong financial discipline
Prepare and analyze forecasting reports, booking pace, month-end results, and market trends to support strategic decision-making
Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management teams to establish pricing strategies, demand forecasts, and optimal space utilization
Work closely with the Director of Banquet Operations and Executive Chef to monitor and optimize Food & Beverage revenues, costs, and profitability
Collaborate with Chefs, Banquet Operations, AV teams, Front Office, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of all catering and group events
Oversee function space allocation, event logistics, and audio-visual requirements to maximize guest satisfaction and operational efficiency
Ensure all events meet brand standards, service expectations, and contractual commitments
Monitor competitor activity and market trends, sharing insights with internal teams to support strategic planning
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards across all catering and event operations
Requirements:
Proven leadership experience managing multi-functional catering or events teams
Strong financial acumen, budgeting, and revenue forecasting expertise
In-depth knowledge of corporate events and luxury wedding planning
Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and client management skills
Analytical mindset with experience in reporting, forecasting, and performance optimization
