The Four Seasons Hotel Seoul is looking for a Director of Catering who leads and directs the team to solicit business and to handle and manage all incoming events inquiries with handling of the groups in adhering to the service standards. As the team leader, he/she is responsible for managing the team to convert positive event business into sales, as well as optimizing function space utilization to maximize event to revenue to achieve the total catering revenue goals.
Job Responsibility:
Leads and directs sales managers to respond and manage all incoming events inquires in adhering to the service standards
Manages leads and responsible for leads solicitation
Manages the entire sales services process
Manages the entire group handling process in adhering to the service standards
Provides sales leadership and support to the team in probing for decision and sales negotiation to increase business conversion rate
Supervises lead qualification and proposal follow up by the team to accurately manage business forecast
Responsible for business forecast and pick up to achieve catering goals
Executes events sales action plans to capture and convert positive business into sales
Be knowledgeable of regional, national and industry wide events or exhibitions for sales forecast and business review
Builds business rapport with top accounts
Revenue management, Group Resume and BEO meetings
Actively prospect and solicit, develop, and maintain local corporate catering accounts through telephone, personal sales calls, trade shows, and on-site entertainment
Implement need-it-curve guidelines and selling strategies
Ensures the team follow the revenue guidelines to deliver efficient inquiry responses
Develops and implements event pricing strategy for local events to maximize and yield event revenue
Optimize total catering revenue
Participates in revenue strategy meetings
Responsible for function space management
Optimizes function space utilization to increase event revenues
Oversees function space blocking standards to prevent overlapping set up and set down times
Monitors space waiting list status to reduce long pending
Responsible for the team performance on Sales Process
Exercises leadership to achieve team development based on individual strengths, development needs, career aspirations and abilities
Recruit, select, train and motivate catering department personnel to realize their potential to develop individuals for advancement within the department and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts
Assure understanding of position description, goals, and Standards of Performance for catering department personnel
and conduct formal bi-annual evaluations and ongoing coaching and counseling
Creates a cohesive team culture and work environment to drive team’s cooperation in achieving departmental goals
Ensures the team is in full compliance with Golden S&C standards and procedures to maintain up-to-date business and sales data
Educates the team to effectively utilize Golden S&C functions and tools to optimize service efficiency and work productivity
Schedule trainings on a regular basis for the areas to develop
Requirements:
Ideally with a university degree
Minimum 2 years work experience as Director of Catering or Assistance Director of Catering
Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company
Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Good bilingual writing skills
Must already possess valid work authorization in South Korea
